I know it's important to work the program, and really all I've been doing is reading daily readings and going to a face to face meeting once or maybe twice a week, if I'm lucky. Plus, participating on this board. It's hard to stay focused on it all the time. I hope to reach a point where it doesn't have to be conscious thought all the time but becomes natural in my behaviors and reactions (the tools that is).
I'm feeling angry again about a lot and I think it's because I'm stuck. Some of the steps get confusing to me in practice. In theory, they make sense.
I'm just tired. I've had a lot to deal with over the past year but I know if I want to have a better/happier life I need to work this program.
Thanks for being "there", and thanks for listening.
I was stuck in my anger for a long time, but after my sponsor helped me work the steps, I climbed over each wall as I hit them. For me reaching out to another person working a solid program has helped me to grow through things I have been stuck on for years. Keep taking care of yourself. Sending you love and support!

I don't know if you have a sponsor however that does help. Especially when it's the right sponsor. It is important to take care of yourself and take action where action is needed within your own program.
I understand that road block of getting impatient. Working in a step meeting has helped me a great deal to understand better where and when I am ready for the next one.
Hugs P :)

Going to meetings provides relief, but working the steps with a face to face sponsor will lead you on the journey to recovery.
Alanon is a "WE" program. It is the first word in step 1. I have had so many years of trying to do this thing called life alone with miserable results. Asking for help is one sign of willingness and humility. When we are teachable and willing to do what our sponsor suggests of us, that is when the miracles of recovery begin. That is why it is so important when you are ready for a sponsor, it is up to each person to ask for sponsorship rather than to be given one.
For me I asked my sponsor to be my temporary sponsor many years ago. She still is my "temporary" sponsor which is a joke between us. We talk 1-2x's per week on the phone and we attend two meetings together each week after which we meet for coffee or get a bite to eat. Her wisdom, time, strength, and love has been invaluable to me over the years. I can only repay her by paying it forward to women for whom I sponsor.
"When the student is ready, the teacher appears" is a quote from our literature. I do so hope you will continue on this journey and discover the many layers of the recovery process.
