The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The Al-Anon program and other sources have taught me and continue to teach me so much about what is really important. My appreciation is continually growing.
Some of what I appreciate:
* The knowing that futality of taking other people's inventory. This knowing has freed me beyond measure.
* The knowing that what other people think of me is none of my business. This was a tough one for me and still creeps in at times, but not without being detected by me.
* The knowing that I can't control other people or things, only me, and that can be a struggle at times.
*The knowing that I can learn to love people unconditionally, even though I backslide in this area a lot.
The understanding I've gained and continue to gain is beautifully overwhelming at times.
In retrospect, I believe that deep emotional pain can open the door to one's HP, and the relationship to one's HP is first and foremost.
If someone had told me that I would write such a statement as the last paragraph, I would have not believed them.
Take good care
