literally broken :(

i am whinning.  A ladder i was on slipped 20ft down a wall and landed on a concrete driveway.  it happened so fast i couldnt do anything at all, not even let go of it.  as a result i broke both of my wrist and fractured my left elbow. in a lot of pain.

Owtch, and oh dear John, not good, your the second person I know that has done this on a ladder, I have a friend called John incidently that had his ladders slip down while he was up them you know those extending ones, and he broke both legs, now he sets alarms off at the airport going through security, I think it's more unlucky to fall down ladders than go under them as the superstition goes me thinks, get well soon!

Talk about being powerless .. have never spoken to you john but keep asking for that serenity to accept the outcome .. and the courage .. takes a lot of courage to keep patient now at a time like this .. sometimes takes even more courage to do nothing and wait for the healing than to do something to try and speed it up .. Accepting the debiliatation .. now is a good time to sit back and gain extra wisdom by reading what and when you can .. sharing too .. if you can .. here's hoping and praying for you to have a speedy recovery ..

and by the way .. you are Not whining you were Hurt and are expressing how you feel in only a few words .. Whining is more like when we Have to get the dishes done and there is Nothing we can do to change that fact .. we sit and complain with every dish .. then we're whining and that kind of whining is Annoying .. This is Not being in victim mode so to speak .. you actually were a victim in this case .. Big smiles but hugs too .. Take care !

Hey John,

I posted on your other thread, but wanted to add: expressions of pain are okay! You had an accident, a rather nasty one. As my former therapist once said [ regarding something else, but you get the point ], " If you don't get upset about THIS, then what is there to get upset about?!"

This ladder accident sure sounds like it fits the bill to me.

Sending healing thoughts!
