AH and I are off tomorrow for a 5 day vacation without our son. It's a business incentive trip for his company and we'll be in the Caribbean. I'm actually very nervous to be alone with him for so long. Is he going to drink(everyone else will be getting trashed like they do every year), is he going to be kind or be a jerk, are we going to be able to work some things out? It's really weighing on me because we have so much work to do and 5 days away would be great if we work together and have some honest heart to heart talks. If he (or I) choose to be distant or disconnected, then we'd waste those 5 precious days and we'd be back to square one upon coming home. We're also in the process of buying a house and I'm overwhelmed. I want to see it as a fresh start, a new beginning, but in my heart I feel weighed down by it and frustrated at the timing of all that's going on. Anyway, please wish us luck and send up some prayers for us. thx!
Remember to breathe, live in the now, enjoy the sun and sand and take care of you :) I hope you have a wonderful time and I will send up a prayer of support. HUGS!

Let go and let God...Let it be... let it begin with me...
Please have a WONDERFUL TIME!!!! Regardless of what he does, drink, act like a nimnod, whatever just go and enjoy the Caribbean!! If you can bring along some alanon lit sit and read take in the miracle of being in an amazing place!! I'm only suggesting start a gratitude list of being in a tropical paradise. I will throw some prayers up, it's going to be up to you if you have a good time or not.
Enjoy, P :)

What everyone else said. Sending you the best hopes and wishes, but whatever happens, enjoy the Caribbean!! Once you get there and are away from all the 'to do's' you might feel a lot better. I just bought a house this year and also had a long planned vacation right at moving time [ not deliberate planning! ] it was nuts but once we arrived I felt great. Then my RA was sometimes okay, sometimes not, but I was determined to enjoy myself and boy I sure did.
You're in the worst stress part now, it'll get way better soon. Enjoy that warm water!
Thanks everyone! Right now I think he's upset with me for calling his psychiatrist but my therapist was the one who told me to call. He hasn't really spoken to me today so I'm afraid it will be a very long trip. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and the prayers.
