The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I was goofing off at work here just before heading home, reading some posts here on MIP. I was realizing that it's probably been close to a year since I first came here...so I thought--hmm, I should check and see when my first post was. Well, it was exactly one year ago today.
I find it so odd that I just happened to check when I first posted, thinking it was close to a year, and it's the exact anniversary!
Anyway, I really appreciate everyone who has shared so much here. I can't tell you how much all of your words have helped me in the last year. I admire so many of you who seem to really have mastered all of these concepts, and always have a helpful answer when I am struggling.
Al Anon has changed my life, and I've only scratched the surface.
Aww .. congrats UsedtoBeanyer, I don't know if anyone actually masters any of this stuff. I'm starting to see that once a layer (I'm sure others have deeper layers I got the skin still coming off!! The thin slippery stuff) comes off there is something else and it's like really?? LOL?
Your posts here have put a lot of things into perspective for me thank you so much for your shares.
Hugs P :)

I don't think it's weird at all. Those things happen when we're "tuned in" to our HP, in my opinion. To me, it was your HP giving you a gentle nudge to check it out (esp. since you were goofing around at work LOL)
I'm so glad you are here. I certainly have my training wheels on in terms of recovery. It's a never-ending process.
Recovery is much easier when we help each other out.
take GOOD care!

Our situations are not the same but similar. I can always relate to the topics you start as many others can. I can honestly say I was worried early on, afraid you were going to throw in the towel before the program had a chance to work its miracles. After about three months it was obvious you were getting it, separating the person from the disease, attending your meetings, continuing to work your program, and having a burning desire to make your situation better. You only had to make good choices and small changes to make that happen, and you did. So you have one year of working Al-Anon one day at a time. Proof again it does work if you work it.
yay yay yay yay..... woooohhhoooooo!!!!!!!! It was not coincidental that you looked or odd.... it was the universe showing you to be sooo proud of yourself...
