Yesterday I had replied to a post citing the 4 M's in Alanon that were particularly meaningful to me when I was new.  They are:

Managing

Manipulating

Mothering

Matyrdom

I couldn't remember which book that I read it from.  Finally I discovered the 4 M's are from our book Paths to Recovery on PP 40.

I still say.....  I am willing to negotiate....

I am more than willing to give up managing, manipulating, and mothering......

But do I really hafta give up martyrdom too???  :)

Tommycat, A follow up to Tom's reply not wanting to give up martyrdom.

Tom I looked up the definition of martyrdom: "The suffering of death on account of adherence to a cause."

I'm with Gail....no can do.

I have a slogan that might help the next time you consider.....How important is it?
