My kids :)

God love my children they have a very warped mother, my HP has a wicked sense of humor .. love it .. lol.  I did decide to share this story because good grief we had the biggest laugh today over something else that was related.

It's been almost two years ago I want to say 2009, I fell and broke my ankle in the house ironically because it was Feb in the middle of winter.  Ice everwhere and I break my ankle IN the house.  We have what I call the fire pit, when we rented the house the landlord called it the sunken living room and I literally couldn't contain myself told him NO that's the pit I grew up in a house with a sunken living room that thing is 3ft deep.  It's where the fire place is and we do use it to heat the living room and kitchen area.  It is 3ft deep .. lol.  Well I slipped on the steps there are about 3 - 4 of them, one leg went forward and the other went backwards and I sat on my leg and snapped my ankle.  The odds of it happening the way it did, seriously I should have played the lottery that night weren't even on paper it was such a freak accident.

My AH, God love him, is going you're fine you're fine .. umm .. no I'm not I can't stand I don't know if I should vomit or cry is how bad it hurt.  He got me to the chair down there we got my sock off and of course the swelling was already happening.  My kids are standing at the railing (yes, there is railing all the way around this thing because .. lol .. it's 3 ft deep!) and I'm really trying to hold it together because I'm worried about how they are going to react vs how much pain I"m in.  At least it was a distraction for me.  I didn't want to scare them.  Again AH, you're fine.  It's ok.  blah blah blah .. LOL .. my daughter who is looking down goes .. ummm .. Daddy, mommy is NOT fine her ankle doesn't look right.  To which my son promptly breaks out into song and dance (Too much booty in your pants).  The need to vomit quickly passed and I was laughing hysterically (I could then cry and not freak my kids out .. lol).  It's 7pm at night, my husband is fireman carrying me out the door to the van.  Gets me settled, gets the kids settled in and now I'm thinking oh crap, .. the neighbors are going to call the cops and that will be what's waiting when we get back.  Our neighbors homes face our back yard and they were home so I have this vision of of the cops being here looking for the body and the blood.

There is actually more to the story, however that was the beginning ending with lots of pain meds and being on my back for 12 weeks.  I have no idea what the hospital staff thought outside of we were def an odd bunch.  I'm sure they thought I had been drinking.  I had one dr look at me and say you know you are the first person we've seen in months who fell INSIDE their house.  I know I know .. lol.  I was never casted because of where the break was and I couldn't put any kind of weight on it.  The dr's were afraid I would slide my bone and have to go in for surgery.

I will say the moral of the story is, never ever break your ankle (or anything else) at 7pm at night on a friday night.  I didn't see an ortho dr until 10am Tuesday.  It was awful, and I also learned never take vicodin on an empty stomach that was not pretty.

Last night, my kids and I went to my home group meeting (my daughter is the babysitter and my son is now insisting he goes if she goes .. lol).  My AH left the doors open so the screens were shut.  I'm fumbling around in the van and send my kids to the door saying the door is open.  My son does a full leap into the screen he literally did not see it (he was fine just totally in shock .. lol).  The lights were on inside the house however off outside so it must not have looked like there was a barrier.  OMG .. howling laughter could be heard from our back yard.  I'm sure we have entertained people to no end with some of the stuff that goes on around here.  That poor kid I swear, it took me 5 min to get to the back door.  Today I had to fix the screen door however both my son and the door are fine.  I just thought OMG .. really?  Who makes this kind of stuff up??

Hugs P :)

(((((Pushka))))) I love the good shares which show that life isn't always what I'd like it to be and doesn't have to be and thru it all HP and miracles are woven throughout.

Thanks soooo much.   (((((hugs))))) smile

Well, sometime if I haven't already I will have to share the lesson my son learned about matches and gasoline and how it's not to be played with .. he learned that story from his dad, when his father proceeded to light himself on fire (that's a little dramatic however in a nutshell basically that's what happened .. lol). My response to the situation was you had to light your a$$ in fire to make a point?! THAT is a story, I swear I'm being filmed like that one movie with Jim Carrey in it where his life is filmed and he doesn't know everyone is actors .. LOL!
