faith, hope and surrender gets me peace of mind and serenity...and Jade!! Aloha all and you know that one of the ways my HP expresses love and care for me is in flowers and plants...growing things that when they are ready give me gifts of beauty. Yes I get the same from lots of others things also and flowers are the most dramatic.
3 years ago another home member for Wednesday Night group gave me two jade plants; a teal one and a red one. The red one had blossoms on it and I was so grateful for that because red jade doesn't grow in Hilo usually...it's too wet. The teal just goes crazy and it is amazing however I was soooo hopeful for the red and I nurtured it and nurtured it even when it was dying. I made a decision last year to cut the teal flower back hard and just let the red have a run at the trellis the both occupy and I fertilized and talked to it and did everything but take it to McDonalds for a treat.
Well HP has decided it was okay for my ego to have a pat on the back and award my spirit with a buncha blossoms one of which just started to mature and I will take a picture when they all bust forth and let you all see the beauty of red jade showing off in a place it isn't supposed to be in Hilo and also in a place it is supposed to be in my spirit. In a couple of days I'll have the pictures.
Mahalo HP and thanks for letting me share. (((((hugs)))))
I never thought of how cultivating the tools of Al-Anon is like gardening. Sometimes I'm hopping up and down demanding "I want serenity! And I want it now!" But your post points out that that's no more useful than doing that for a flower. But sometimes, also, you spend time cultivating your garden and then you get jade.
Thanks for the share Jerry!! I want to see those pictures too!! :)
Hugs P :)
