Coming out of Lurkdom - an introduction - and gratitude

Hello all,

I've been lurking so to speak since April.  My geographical circumstances changed temporarily then and I was no longer able to get to my long loved face to face meetings.  So that's how I found MIP.

I just wanted to say hello and let you all know that, since May, every morning when I wake, I grab my phone off the nightstand and pull up MIP.  I read nearly every post, in order.  It's been like having a little meeting every morning.  Thank you all for that - for your ESH, your wisdom, your humor.  This board, together with my readings, and phoning my al anon support friends have kept me from sliding down the mountain.  And believe me, I was close a few times.

I'm working back in town now and I've started back to my home group - thank HP!  I assumed I'd move on from MIP now, but I realized today that you folks were such a grounding force for me during the last months, I'd like to stay -- adding MIP to my recovery tool box.  I also figured I ought to come out of lurkdom and say hi.  And most of all, that I have appreciated you all so much as you unknowingly nudged me along "staying the course."

Gratefully yours,

Bets

Besty I am gald you came out of "Lurking". Welcome to MIP. I'm glad you are again able to attend you home group. Seven days without a meeting makes one "WEAK".

Several years ago I was also attending Al-Anon meetings when I found MIP. I had no idea at that time MIP would become such an important part of my recovery. I also had no idea I had found another caring, understanding, and loving family who like my home group understands me as perhaps no one else can.......but they did and do, and I am much better off because of it.

Keep coming back and posting. Share you ES&H.......Your family now.

HUGS,
RLC

Aloha Betty and welcome also.  I'm happy with you that your situation worked out in your recovery favor and I'm glad you decided not to lurk any further.  Actually the oldtimers here can hear lurkers moving around behind the walls.   I hope your appearance encourages the other lurkers to come into the room and be embraced also.

For all you MIPers who haven't done a Bio yet?  Do a Bio.  It makes the family real.

With love in service.  ((((hugs)))) smile

Hi

How do you bring it up on your phone.  I tried several times several ways but it doesn't seem to get to the board.

I have an iphone 4

I lurked for a long time but felt I knew everyone already (isn't that strange) We are so lucky to have this board. Welcome and best wishes.
