Hi, thankyou for being there for me, I hope that others who are seeking help find the support of Alanon too. I finally met and had coffee this week with my local Alanon lady who has supported me over the phone for a couple of months. Tomorrow I will meet another local lady who has also reached out to Alanon, we spoke for the first time tonight. At the meeting today I saw how awesome it was, that people were sharing of their struggles, they recognised their behaviours and feelings, and were wanting to deal with them in a responsible manner, or what they saw as healthy. I have also heard my sis-in-law speak of her AA meetings and I thought how neat it was to be able to share daily with others how you were honestly feeling, I'm sure there are so many people who don't get asked during their week how they are - let alone have the opportunity to be listened to. Thankyou for helping people to get healthy, and also understand where they may be unhealthy. It sounds like everybody could benefit from Alanon's teachings. It's not always nice to look honestly at ourselves, and to see whats lurking inside, but with my higher power, and help from Alanon and others, I absolutely wholeheartedly know that this IS the way to go. They are real keys to truth, and better living. The truth shall set you free.

What a wonderful post. Yes, the truth does set us free. Al-Anon does teach universal truths. Meetings are where social masks come off and members share themselves without fear of judgment. Meetings are a place where we can realize that we all share similar thoughts and feelings that we don't share on a daily basis outside the rooms of Al-Anon.
Al-Anon teaches a heathly way of living. I hope your post will encourage others to try meetings for themselves.
