My A got a new job.

I am excited for my A who has a new job as of today.  He was working seasonal work for a very nice man who happens to be scatterbrained and just can't get it together enough to work consistently.   We used to need the flexibility the job supplied but we don't anymore.

I did let him know in the past week or two that he cannot use my bank account any longer to cash his cheques after the cheque he had.   It does bother me that he doesn't have a bank account or any independence financially really.  He could not live on the wage he makes if we were not together.

His new job is consistent hours, has benifits, will apprentice him and there is room for advancement.  I am so happy for his sense of self worth that just might come out of this.  I hope it is self worth, and not ego.

I did have a bit of nervousness in me as the trade he is in is well known for employing people with addictions.   I do wonder if he will go out with the guys after work with the best intentions after work and end up drinking.   Thankfully that has only come into my mind once.  Using my program to keep it out of my mind.

All in all it is a good day for my A I think.  Brings me a smile.

Edited to say:  Oh ya, and his cheques are now direct deposit.  Yippeee.  He has to have a bank account now.  :)

(((((Clep))))))

Congrats to you both.. Him for his Job & You for your Recovery work...

I do believe everyone regardless of addictions or Lack there of, should if possible have a Job...And this is Solely MY Opinion, and that is because it does Help Build Self Esteem, and it does help people feel they are worthy... I didn't have that much growing up, and yes there are days I wish I didn't have to work, BUT ... I know without my job I would be Crazier then I am Now ;)

Wishing You both Wonderful things to come out of this New Change ;)

CONGRATS AGAIN

Jozie
