Ok guys need imput.................. Next week is my Birthday!!!!! I am so excited about this but I also am going to be the chairmain of my face to face meeting that day! I am going to discuss the 3 Cs but there isn't many pages to refer to in the Courage to Change Book is there any books or any suggestion anyone might have that I could work with? Thanks guys! So far my week has been a doozy on my part but I am working with my sponser to work through some issues and the 3 C's is what has been on my mind! Have a great day!
I looked in ODATA and HFT, I didn't see anything, however I wondered if you could talk about the 3 c's and focus on one of the characteristics of the 3 c's. There are some great reads in all of the books about control. :) Sometimes in meetings someone starts talking about something and then we can't find something we pick something related. I don't know if that helps it's just how my home meeting handles things. :)
P :)

Hmmm I am thinking that the first three steps cover the three C's? We are powerless, we didn't cause it, we can't cure it, and we can't control it? Maybe...I am loving the ODAAT book. Its helping me realize the three C's more and more every day.... Have fun and happy almost birthday!

Let go and let God...Let it be... let it begin with me...
Aloha MDK...your own personal experiences are probably the best references to the 3C's. For me it was looking at what I did before coming into Al-Anon in reaction to alcoholism in my life then and my reactions and responses to that pre-program life.
Part of "I didn't cause it" was looking at the family before me...generationally and genetically.
Part of "I can't control it" was looking at the reality of it...inspite of how I wished and wanted life to be; alcoholism still had it come out differently...WOW!!
Part of "I can't or couldn't cure it" was looking at all of the things I have done to change it along side of all of the other things others have tried and all of the other programs and institutions out there who work in the field and the consequence...it's still here; as bad or worse than before...with the exception that I am free of it by choice.
You'll do fine and Happy Birthday...belly button or recovery? ((((hugs))))
I have a book called The Alanon Family Groups classic edition that I believe has the 3 C's covered. I could be confusing it with another book. I will check into it for you as it is not a common book usually carried in the literature cabinet at most meetings. But it is the dinner hour for me and I am trying to desperately scare something up to eat tonight. Should I find exactly where it is, I will pass it on to you.
