Its not really alanon related, but the more people praying, maybe he will make it home. He is a Maine Coon and he is 3 years old. he is an indoor cat and he has asthma so the terrible weather we are having here with the heat and humidity is making me scared for him. He escaped out the window last night, the screen was broken this morning. :( His name is Dusty...
I will let you know if we find him. His two cat siblings (our other two cats) miss him! And so do my kids, me and my fiance... thanks all!
I'm praying for Dusty, and sending love and hugs to you and your family. I have two indoor cats, and can understand your fear and worry. (((((((hugs))))))) Freya
I have two rescue Maine Coons that almost look normal size next to my big moose. And a tiny little puff of a girl cat that someone dumped at my dad's farmhouse that has us all trained well. I know the racket that happens when they simply can not find eah other in the house. I can imagine how worried everyone is about Dusty. Prayers and wishes sent to you all.
You have probably thought of this but just in case. He will look for shade and under bushes around my house is where I will find my cats or any others especially in daylight hot times. I would also put out a couple bowls of water in places you can see throughout the day and change them fairly often. The only other thing i can think of that has worked for me with finding a lost cat is to simply sit in my yard quietly and shake a little bowl of food. It takes time but when they feel safe and ready they come out to me.
Thanks Jen! Yes, I am at work and my fiance and my 14 year old son are both doing those things. But thank you so much for thinking of us in this time :)

Oh my, youfoundme! I have an outdoor cat that is acting unusually! We think she is dying & doesn't want to eat! I feel for you. My husband is beside himself w/ worry!
I hope she comes back! You may find it weird but our cat looks a lot like ours.
Awww I am sorry your cat is gone, I would be beside myself should one of my dogs get away and be lost Prayers that your cat is ok and finds his way home soon ( maybe he is just giving himself a little vacation ) and prayers to you and family during this time. Blessings
Praying for you and your cat, yfm. I had two cats who died when they were 12 - one with a tumour and the other with a broken heart after his sister and lifelong companion left him. I was devastated so can appreciate your worry. I do hope he turns up again soon.
makes my stomach hurt to think about it! I hate it when this happens, I just lose it.
From experience, look in a four block radius. The usually are right around your house hiding in a bush or something, or in someones flower bed. I would get out walking when it is cooler and call him.
Put a bunch of water outside. Most inside cats don't go far and people find them.
Will keep you guys in my prayers. Creator loves all his creations!
love,deb

You could try going out in the wee hours of the morning. Like 2, 3 am when it is dead quiet. She might be hiding under a house, or in a garage in the neighborhood. And be too scared to come out unless its dead quiet and she can hear you. Sometimes they get trapped somewhere by another animal- like a bully cat who wont let them out from a small space and they have to keep hidden and cant get away. In the wee hours I believe you have more chance of finding lost animals.
You could also try an animal communicator. The real ones do find animals. They can work over the phone, they tune in from where ever they are, dont need to be local. They might be able to tune in to her and so see where she is.

I will pray that you will find your cat. I have never heard of a cat having asthma, but my little boy is having a tough time too. Temps were over triple digits here in Texas. I have three cats too and know how stressful it can be when one just does not come home.
Dear youfoundme, please keep us updated about Dusty. I keep you and him in my mind.
I want to tell you that over the years, I have had missing cat situations---yes, inside cats simetimes. It can take days to weeks for them to return (or be found). I have had good luck with posting signs around the neighborhood. I have found that good samaritans will often take in a cat---but then, have no way to find the owner.
Where I live, Virginia, if we report a description, by phone, they will call if someone reports a "lost cat". I helped my adult, who lives in a different neighborhood, daughter find her dog that way. The dog had showed up in someone's back yard and they fed her and had the presence of mind to call animal control to inquire.
Don't give up hope--it is way too soon.
In support, Otie.

I hope he comes home soon! My only tip is posters - a neighbour lost a cat for a 4 days recently and plastered the place with posters. A number of people called, including a lady who thought she had heard a cat in her cellar. Needless to say, it was the pesky little fellow, waiting to be liberated. :o)
