It's my choice, I want to drink

This is what my A said to me today

SO I too have choices

It's been a tough few weeks, the binge has been horrific....hospital, psych ward, police

I relinquished control a while ago but every so often, you know, my fingers itch to pick it all up again, I can take it all back, I can cope, blah blah blah goes my insane thinking

NO I can't take it back..........WHAT AM I THINKING.........INSANE FOR SURE

It's good that he said this today because it reminded me that my life is good, in no way perfect, but good.  I have freedom of choice, every day, to live the day how I choose to live it, I'm not imprisoned by addiction any longer, unless I choose to be.

Today I choose recovery, and a trip to the garden centre where there is a half price sale on basket plants and a coffee shop with the best cakes.

Outa here.

Wishing you all 'good day'

(((((Jadie)))))

Your post reminds me of the three C's

You did not cause it,

You cannot control it

You cannot cure it.

It sounds like you trip to the garden center is a great idea.  I was there myself yesterday and I lifted my spirits by buying some lovely plants to enjoy inside my home.  Good for you for making choices in your best interest.  I hope you have fun!

Best, Tommye

I LOVED this post.  Thank you so much.

I am very familiar with that itching finger syndrome you mention ... and thankfully, like you, I am getting more and more familiar with the response "What am I thinking?....Insane for sure"

A nice pleasing trip to the Garden Centre at 50% off sounds perfect!

I am encouraged by your post Jadie! You are so right...we ALL have choices to make, and we cannot control the choices of others. You have to make the choices to empower yourself, and it sounds like you are doing just that! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing day. You deserve it! Thank you for your encouraging post

So, I had a fruit scone with home-made raspberry jam and some Cornish clotted cream and a big cup of tea. Yum and more yum!

Debilyn I did buy some begonias! and million bells, my favourite for baskets, and some geraniums.

Today in my part of the world the sun has decided to shine (haven't been able to say that much this summer) so my afternoon job is to get out planting then sit back and admire and enjoy.

Who knows the sun may shine long enough to dust off the bbq and have dinner al-fresco.

Keeping it simple

Have a good one all of you
