I am strong in the broken places. ~ Unknown
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another! ~ Anatole France
I have been touched by this song since it first appeared. Later it became "our" song--me and my rencetly departed husband. I can picture him dedicating it to me at karioke.LOL I feel that it has such universal meaning---a true classic.
likemyheart, do you remember when songs had "real" lyrics that read like poetry?? Like Paul Simon, or Bob Dillon, or Seals&Crofts, or John Denver, or Ronnie Milsap, or Johnny Cash, or Bonnie Rait....etc...?
I absolutely love that song...and how said about Janis Joplin, heroin overdose...there were three that year I believe, Jim Morrison, Janis and Jimi Hendrix...

I like youtube for music - finding songs I forgot about, sometimes I start with one song and follow a trail of songs depending on the suggestions that come up with each artist, I hear artists I've never heard of, or ones I'd forgotten about, and can spend hours listening and remembering. hmm, wonder what seals n crofts they have? I used to like them. When kids ask what's my favorite song, my reply is that there are too many out there to pick just one!
