Are you working the steps? I am working them and am getting ready to start 3 and in working these I found I have lived in fear about so many things all my life. I have let go of control and let God run the show finally, but it all takes time. Progress not perfection. I am sending you love and support! You are worth it and just take things moment by moment, until you can take them hour by hour, than day by day. My favorite saying when people start what iffing me, I say what if the moon fell out of the sky and poked me in the eye and it helps make us all laugh and get away from what iffing the future. I pray you can find serenity in going and seeing your family!

Aloha Chinup...The summary of our first three steps is "Trust God" and the Serenity Prayer as for God/HP to grant us the courage to "Change the things we can" and our ODAAT daily reader suggest that "courage is fear that has said its prayers" and more. Doing something different for me early in recovery was so very fearful and then I found out I could still do something different and feel fearful at the same time.  Then I learned the program acronym for F.E.A.R.   False  Evidence  Appearing  Real.  Its in my head and my head doesn't have any knowledge and experience (=wisdom) just all kinds of voices and pictures it dreams up which are not based upon reality.  My wife conversed with me the other night a great alternative for fear she learned in Al-Anon and that is to use Caution rather than outright fear.  Caution is moving forward with thought, the experiences of others and the faith that HP will remain caring throughout the endeavor.  Think before you move...ask for additional support and acknowledge the HP which stands with you and always has.  It is safer flying in an airplane than automobile travel.   Sit by the window and get a God's eye view of the planet you live on.   (((((hugs))))) smile

I'm glad you decided to go biggrin.  Flying is like everything else that is new, once you've done it a few times you wonder what you were afraid of.  There's is always help in the airports for direction and you sit beside people in the plane..you'll be fine.

Personally, I'd rather be up in the air instead on the road in Mississippi!   It's thehe land of U-turns and no turn signals..lol

Well I will tell you I am like you. I hate to leave home. Everytime I pray to be safe so I can come back!

So far, well here I am! hon I don't regret going. If it were my kids, I would do anything to be with them.

Believe me I know how ya feel. Maybe talk to your doc about some anti anxiety med or some herbal things?

Ask doc about melatonin, Chamomile etc. Ginger for your tummy.

Maybe take little steps, enjoy the excitement of it all, the newness! I can tell you it is exilerating axillerating, well it is exciting! (c:

I love the feeling I get at the airport. All the different people from differnent lands! The kids all over, all the same from all over the world. LOVE the smiles from people who don't speak your same language but we all know what a (c: means.

Dress comfy! Good comfy shoes for walking. Layer for whatever temperature. Wish I could go with you and visit my friend over there! Just surprise her!

I hope you can go hon. You won't be sorry. For me it is always, ok one step, then the next. Even moving to this cabin was too big for me. But taking it super slow, I mean in my mind, throwing out the dumb stuff in my head, here I am sooo happy feeding all these crazy wild animals!

You will see your daughter!!! makes me want to train to see mine!

Sending you strength. love,debilyn
