A Miracle in Progress

Just got home from the Wednesday Turning Point meeting and watching another Miracle in Progress.  The chair for the meeting is a relative newbie who has been clawing for serenity from day one.  Mostly she would weep and LOL had already gone thru a box or two of tissues which the meeting supplies.  Tonight she not only chaired the meeting on the 2nd step from the BB/How Al-Anon Works she also brought her own new box of tissues.  We laugh with her about it and tonight she didn't touch the box once.  She shared clearly about a long relationship she has had with her HP and how becoming a member of Al-Anon has improved that relationship and made it clearer.   She didn't sound like the hurt, vunerable, child tonight.  She sounded like a confident, strong, working for recovery woman.  What a miracle!! and it will serve to keep me coming back.  (((((hugs))))) smile

Its a great story. It's amazing how many boxes of tissues one can go through! It's very "cleansing" to be able to cry and let go of all the emotions. HAve a great day.

Oh Jerry, I Remember Being that Same Gal...I Remember My 1st face to face, I was rather Cocky and Pissed I Believe, which lead to Hurt & Spuwing tears everywhere... Took me along time to even Grasp on to the fact that my father was gone to this disease, and because of this disease .... Took along time be fore the tears stopped long enough for me to listen... Thats one thing I know I owe to alot of you here... You all Guided me Out of My tears and brought me Sailin into my Life...

And Jerry From where I Sit YOU Are one of the Best... In My Recovery, and i'm Sure many others, Your Courage, Your Heart Felt Shares, Your Visions all things that I learn from every chance I get... You are the Proof that This Program WORKS IF YOU WORK IT... And it sounds like your New Gal Friend is Doing Just that.... CONGRATS to her & You for Noticing :0)

Wonderful tribute to her and the program, my friend.....  Also another great testament to how this program works - a week ago, you were beside yourself with anger and frustration around the senseless death of that young fellow killed by a drunk driver - and here we are, less than a week later, where you (and we) get to see yet another miracle and "progress" within the bigger picture..... helps us all keep on going....
