Are you subscribing to topics? Click on your user name (or on USER DETAILS) to get into your profile, scroll down to see if you are subscribed to topics, if so then click them to unsubscribe. Also, click on settings and check to see if your settings eliminate the emails. When I reply to a topic I usually use the quick reply option. I notice that in the "other" reply option (at the right of the topic next to QUOTE) there is a box you can check to receive emails whenever there are reponses to the topic. I don't know if you've already tried these options, don't know what else to tell you to try - I used to get a lot of emails and I played around changing things until they stopped but I couldn't say exactly what I did.
