I have found that when I wake up cranky (like this morning) that I can turn it around and get happy. I have found that maknig a list of what I like and don't like makes me feel like I am gaining insight I didn't know I had. I have found that signing up for a class in karate is making me more excited and happy than I have been in years. I have found that reading tons of literature, and going to meetings is helping me feel better. I have found that spending time in my garden, with my cats and especially with my kids gives me a serenity I haven't known. When I actually live in that moment...thats where the stuff is.
When I am at work, a job I really dislike, as a receptionist, I have found this week, that if I answer the phone happily, smile at passersby and generally *be* a friendly soul...that my day at work is much nicer. Much nicer, despite having to sit here and do mundane things. I am lucky to be able to get on line while at work...and I am lucky to have a job in this crazy job market. But I have faith that I will find something better. I am handing it over to HP to help me. I can control my own attitude. And I am going to let it begin with me...let me be the change I want to see in the world. I know there may still be hard days, and days I want to hide my head in a hole...but I know I can get back out of that downward spirol because I have support and am learning how to love me....thanks

What you wrote is so true. Controling the only person you have control over, having a positive attitude, letting it begin with you, and turning it over to your HP.
"When I actually live in that moment......that's where the stuff is"...........I agree and the "Stuff" is all "Good Stuff".
Keep doing what works and it will keep getting better. I suggest you save posts that are positive on days when you feel good and strong in your program, so when you are faced with a trying day - you can go back to read how strong you were before and it really helps! I used to post signs and slogans on the walls in my condo - in every room of the place, for four years. Seeing those reminders EVERYWHERE really helped it to sink in and to remind me of program tools that work.
On another tangent: my mom dated this radio dj (before I was born) and he told her that the radio jockeys all smile like mad when they speak on air- bc it allows the words to come out of your mouth sounding differently then if we are not smiling when we speak. I make an effort to put a huge smile on my face every time I answer the phone - try it, it does make a huge difference in how we sound - which tells others the subconscious message that we are feeling great and confident. Our feelings can be very contagious in the work place - I feel much better when I can be offensively happy, it keeps the negatives away easier and I am focused on having a better feeling which allows me to stay in a healthier and more constructive mood with anything or anyone I may come into contact with. Remind yourself to detach and dont take on their stuff- if they are cranky - let them have that all day long - you dont have to go there. Kill em with kindness we say in the South! and dont take it (them) personally! kcb and working it.
