A Serenity Filled Saturday~AMAZING!

I had the most amazing Saturday~the best in months, and  the only explanation I can find is that I "stopped" to smell the roses...the irony being I didn't stop all day long!

We had our first sunshine filled day here in weeks it seemed, and when I woke up and saw the sunshine, I decided to soak it in!

Got up, showered and headed out for mulch and flowers! Came home and spent the ENTIRE day working in my yard.  My son got his first grass cutting job, and he mowed at the neighbors, while I weed whacked and transplanted flowers and cleaned out my flower beds (which I believed I saw a dinosaur in the looked so much like Jurasic Park-lol)...

Long over due "chores" and very behind because of my health, I was so grateful to be able to be outside and do the work that it took on a whole new meaning....they weren't "chores" this time but provided me with great serenity as I was soooo happy to be able to do them, to get out, to be on my feet and enjoy the wonderful sunny day filled with yard work.  I took my time, chatted with neighbors, listened to music while I worked and even got a sun burn!

It was a beautiful day from start to finish....and maybe it was because I started it Friday night, with a meeting, the first I'd been able to attend in TWO long months! It was a great way to start the weekend, and I was soooo grateful to be able to get to the meeting (with the help of my alanon family)...If I have the strength left tomorrow night, I may try to end the weekend with another meeting!

To blessed to be stressed, and sooo filled with gratitude for the ability to do my "chores", and a beautiful sunshiney day filled with serenity.

Shelly

Shelly,

I too enjoy going outside planting flowers.  I love the work as it is the one thing in my life that I can do and be fully present in the moment.  I look at the beautiful flowers as a gift from my HP that bloom all summer long.

It feels amazing.  I am so glad you had a chance to experience it.

Thanks for sharing.  TC
