This prayer was shared at my 8.30 AM meeting today.  I thought it was good stuff so I am passing it on.  Hope you all enjoy! 

PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR 

Father, Thou knowest I am growing older. Keep me from becoming talkative, and possessed with the idea that I must express myself on every subject.

Release me from the craving to straighten out everyone's affairs.  Keep my mind free from the recital of endless detail; give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips when I am inclined to tell of my aches and pains; they are increasing with the years, and my love to speak of them grows sweeter as time goes by.

Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be wrong. Make me thoughtful but not moody; helpful but not bossy.  With my vast store of wisdom and experience, it seems a pity not to use it all; but Thou knowest, Lord, that I want to keep friends at the end.  biggrin

I just called an Al-Anon friend and read the prayer to her..........when I finished she said.........Yep, that's us RLC.

I wonder if this would fit tattoed backwards on my forehead... biggrin.gif Maybe just posted on the bathroom mirror to start every morning with is a better idea. Thanks TC.
