I am proud and almost have a feeling of guilt after read others post today. I was truly blessed and grateful to have a Mother (and Father) who raised me right, was always there for me, and led me in the right direction. For that I will always be thankful.
My Mother left this world ten years ago to be in a better place along with my Father. I still miss her (them) dearly, but she left me with thousands of memories, all good. I recall all the things she told me as a young boy growing up. Little things that that I didn't see as important at the time. Say your prayers when you go to bed at night. Brush your teeth. Never be a quitter. If you quit one time it will be easier to quit the next time. Always treat people like you would like to be treated. Always be yourself. She led by example. I only had to follow.
On this Mother's Day weekend, I would like her to know I still hear her whispers in my head. I hear her voice. Her words of wisdom that echo my mind. Those little things I didn't see as important at the time I realize now were not just words, they were a Mother's gift to a son. When I lose my way, as I often do, I only have to listen for those voices.
Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you.
