Court today

AH and I had court today.. If you read my previous posts, then you know that CAS was taking us to court. Well... we have to have our own lawyers, and he has one, and I am still in the process, so had to use duty counsel. Needless to say, that was bull. She (duty counsel) read me what they wanted in the order, and I told her what my concerns were, she said that it was an issue that he had to deal with, not me, and told me to sign the Minutes of Settlement. Not once did she tell me that I did not have to sign. A little while later after AH was done talking to his lawyer, he came out of the room, and I could tell he wasn't happy. He said "you signed the paper, there's nothing I can say... they are going to get what they want" he tried to get me to go back to the duty counsel, and I found myself getting frustrated and upset. I bowed my head and repeated to myself " let go and let god", and immediatly felt better. I discussed the issue with the duty counsel again, and with the CAS worker that was there, and came to an agreement, but still... the order is still there. I have custody of the kids (YAY), he is not to be at the house at all.. blah blah blah, etc etc... the issue I had was that I am not to facillitate contact between the kids and him. Well, he is actually at my parent's house.. long story, but I'm glad he's there. I would pretty much have to ask CAS permission before I take my kids there, or even call him. That I did not agree to. Oh well, what's done is done. All I can do now, is concentrate on what I have to do and take care of us here at the house. Will be busy next week looking for a lawyer. Hope you all have a great Easter!

Too bad your duty counsel was not doing her duty. Still, as you say what's done is done. ¨Let go and let God.¨ Good for you in accepting that and moving on to the next thing to do. Good luck finding a good lawyer.
Oh, and you have a happy Easter too!

Good luck with the lawyer Evian. Those court people never explain everything as well as it could be. I have had my struggles as well. You did good!

Happy Easter!

I'm so glad you can be there for your children.
