No more free books.... :)

Hi all... just wanted to let the group know that I won't be able to continue giving away the free GTS books anymore - money is pretty tight around my place these days, and I just can't afford it....  I believe that I have two book remaining, and after those have been given away, I will take down the post at the top of the board...

I started this a few years ago, and am proud that I have given away more than 200 copies of this valuable book....  This has been a rewarding experience in and of itself, as it has given me an opportunity to meet a whole lot more people - mostly newcomers, and hopefully the book has helped several folks get on with their own education & recovery.

I will continue to be an advocate of the 'Getting Them Sober' series of books...  They are available at a fairly reasonable cost, and they literally saved my sanity, and started me on towards my recovery....  I can still remember the first time reading the book - when I was certain that NOBODY could possibly understand the insanity that was going on in my home (behind closed doors), and there was my life, splattered all over Chapter 1, 2, 3, etc....  Part of the value is just the realization that we are NOT the only ones in the world dealing with this insanity, and we are NOT (completely) crazy....

One of the other really cool things about this experience - I ask those who receive the books to e-mail me back with their thoughts (once they have read it), and get probably half or more sending me feedback.... Almost without exception, the reviews are positive, and I have had the opportunity to share these directly back with Toby - who appreciates the feedback tremendously....

Take care

Tom

This was one of the very first books that I read and it saved my sanity, too!  It gave me so much hope and a lot of practical suggestions (which I didn't always implement in the beginning).

I went over to amazon.com and checke to see how much "used" copies are.  I discovered that there are currently 44 used copies, some are as low as 1 cent + shipping of $3.99.

The book is easy to read.  It has a great table of contents, which enables one to quickly look for the issue that is at hand.  Great Stuff!

Here's the link  (hope it's okay to post it)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0961599596/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1303149527&sr=1-1&condition=used

Lately, I've begun to purchase used books and have saved a lot of money.  When considering a used book offer, make certain you read carefully the condition the book is in.  I haven't been disappointed yet.

Hey Tom, I bought my copy at Barnes & Noble - your life can't be in the first 3 chapters because MY life is! It's amazing how similar so many stories are, it reads like the book is talking to me - thanks for pushing it onto us, we need it!
