The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
My apologies if I shouldn't put this link up here, but I did purchase a book using the links provided on MIP and received this book yesterday..."Struggle for Intimacy" (dedicated to adult children of alcoholics) written by Janet Geringer Woititz.
I sat down to read it and I couldn't put it down. Very enlightening and so personal to me.
I grew up not in an alcholic home but a very dysfunctional home and so much of what my struggles are right now were addressed in this book.
I highly suggest it and it seems to coincide w/the 12 Steps of Alanon.
Again, my apologies to the moderators and the board if this mention is inappropriate (if not considered Conference Approved Literature).
Sounds like something I can use. I thank you for suggesting it. I dont know how it is viewed of suggesting books not conference approved - but if it eases your mind - I have seen many books suggested here and in the chat room.
Thanks Again
Karen

Intimacy. Yes, struggle is the right word to describe intimacy in my life. I automatically flee from such situations. The thought of joining a group frightens me. I am getting this book from the library this week. Thanks very much! Sponsor suggested our CAL "Dilemma of the Alcoholic Marriage" book. I am reading with my husband, a compulsive overeater. It is excellent.
