The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
This may be off topic, or maybe not. I belong to another forum where members take turns sharing daily quotes. Whenever I see a good quote I add it to my list for when it's my turn to share. I was looking through the list tonight and thought there were a few that fit into the principles of alanon:
¨Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are.¨
Bernice Johnson Reagon
¨ A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do.¨ Bob Dylan
¨A "no" uttered from deepest conviction is better and greater than a "yes" merely uttered to please, or what is worse, to avoid trouble.¨
Mahatma Gandhi
¨Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment. ¨ Will Rogers
And my VERY favorite-
¨Women are like teabags. We don't know our true strength until we are in hot water! ¨ Eleanor Roosevelt
These are great! Sweetie used to always read the ones in Reader's Digest. Used to love that mag. I loved the beautiful paintins they "used" to have on the back of the mag.
Have been buying books of quotes since i was a teen.
We have a lot of the same taste. They are all so simple and true.
thank you for sharing. love,deb

This helps me to remember to try to stay in reality, and to avoid ascribing character traits to people that exist only in my imagination. I've been soooo guilty of living in fantasy land and not seeing reality in the past.
