When I hear about all that is going on in the world today, it makes me so grateful! I have a safe place to live(so far) & hope for the future.
I haven't had to struggle w/ much as far as Mother Nature rocking my world really since 1996 when our area was flooded. It is kinda funny to tell the story now but then it wasn't. I actually was awakened to a voice trying to get my out while my mom's trailer was flooding. I was totally out & they had to get me up to walk me through the flood w/ a boat waiting. My mom ended up in a mental facility to recover because it was WAY to much for her to handle. I look back now & know that it wasn't that bad for me really. I had another place to sleep--my own apartment. I never really suffered but I had to support my mom at the time.
Today I am feeling pretty well. I have had a good morning & am planning a good afternoon. I am still living ODAT.
I hope that the people who are suffering w/ all the disasters as of late, are doing well. It has got to be hard to go through all that. But, if we all have faith, God will pull us through--that is my HOPE! Bless you all!
Last year there was terrible flooding and mudslides where I live. We were lucky but some people lost their lives and many more lost homes and/or businesses. These people are from small, poor villages. They don't have homeowner (or any other kind of) insurance. I've been amazed at how the survivors have started over and carried on with the help of families, friends and community. Most of them have the attitude that kathleen mentioned..¨if we have faith, God will pull us through¨. Living here among such people keeps me humble and is a constant reminder of what is really important and how much I have to be grateful for.
