I finally got my message across at an open AA meeting last night. I can't say all I shared but I think I opened some of the AAs eyes there. I guess what I needed was a captive audience & I got it!
I can't say that I don't get through at an alanon meeting but they are so small & I missed my monthly big alanon meeting this month. I usually go to this meeting 60+ miles away once a month. It is probably undoubtedly the most serenity I may get in a whole month. But Weds.(this week) I did get to our bigger meeting here in town & it was good! I love it when I share & people really listen & really know me & where I come from.
So..I am still searching for the best of the best in my life! Time will tell if I will reach a better place--God is in control, If he's not I will surely mess things up!
I said last night that only we can mess things up--lightbulb moment! Even if we go to meetings regularly & for some don't drink, only we can blow it & lose what we have! So, for me, it is serenity I am seeking & hoping that I can get some this new week coming. I just have to remember to focus on what is real & forget about what is not! I am definitely into reality seeking!
Life is what you make it! Don't blow it! Like they say, we only have one go around! Peace to all of you! Kathleen
((((Kath)))))....just reminded me of an old Al-Anon-ism. "The life we have is a gift from God; what we do with it is our gift in return". Don't mess it up. Do the very best you can with what you have cause God understands progress.
