Generational Alcoholism

Aloha All...I haven't back checked on a phone call my Eldest Son and I were having
in which he said that his cousin, the eldest son of my younger brother was coming
for a visit...Actually was running from the trashing his alcoholism was doing to his
family.  My son and I talked about what it use to be like, some of what has happened
for him and for myself and how it is like now.   He is a non drinking, not now using
alcoholic addict who has found his recovery within his church.  His cousin is still drinking
and all the rest of stuff that comes with that and inside the undertow of the surf.  Last
time he was here he had gone back to drinking after a short stay in AA.  His dear wife
was smiling that blank, grit teethy smile I use to smile when I was married to my own
beautiful alcoholic wife but now it seems she has had enough.  Of course I don't know
the whole story...only my own and I have deep empathy for all of us here and those
who are not who are being tragically affected by this disease.

I pray she finds Al-Anon or MIP or other or all of it so that she can also come face
to face with her own Higher Power.

Thanks for being here for me.  (((((hugs))))) smile

Oh so cousin is bringing this trashing addiction to your sons home. sigh

Well your son is that your son. I am sure he knows the disease, the tools and the boundaries. You will be there for him.

If it were me I would suggest to cousin to get a tarp and head to that tarp city.

Your attitude is shining good today! love, debilyn
