Finding happy

Woke up pushing the trepidation away, and put happy things in my head. I need to do what I share all the time. Anti stressors. Gotta find mine and cancel out all this bolony.

The situation is not the problem so much as is the limbo. So I must learn to get on and be happy NOW.

Then I get an email from the mortgage advocate. The mor. co has put it into review AGAIN. I thought we were past that. It can take months again. big sigh.

BUT the more time, more money I can stick away for the big chunk or buying an rv or finding a home.

Am going to go sit by the river today, just be there. gotta find what makes "happy".

How do you find happy for you?  deb

"Go sit by the river"...By God that is what I'm gonna do myself for a while and just
watch all the good stuff around me that are provided without any requirement from
me other than HP has found us deserving.  Thanks Debber for the direction...see I
didn't even have to think that one up myself.    Mahalo (((((hugs)))))  smile

Deb, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this review business yet again. But you've got the right attitude-take advantage of the extra time to prepare for the future.
Sitting by the river sounds like a good idea. We live on the shore of a lake and I love just watching the water. It's very relaxing and peaceful. For me-working in my garden is something I always enjoy. Even if I'm pulling weeds it makes me happy to watch the butterflies and listen to the birds. And of course spending time playing with and walking my dogs always makes me happy. There are other things that help me feel better-reading, coming to this board, cooking a fine meal, etc. But it seems the things that can almost always make me happy are mother nature and my animals.

Debi,

Love the picture of your pig- so cute!

Being near bodies of water has always been therapeutic for me- great choice of spending time.

I wish I could force a reason from your mort company as to why it is cycling and not moving forward... but, you know the drill- I haven't had any success forcing things...

Praying answers come to you soon.

I just went thru all that mortgage Co. business and walked away from my home after 15 years. Settled into my new apt. for 2 months now. Didnt even look back, was so glad to be out of limbo, but since you have some extra time, might as well sit back and enjoy.
I know when it was all happening, I had anxiety about where I would end up and could I afford it. Im in a great Senior building and pay a reasonable rent and they pay the gas. Its an older well kept building and Im glad Im here. Your HP will see you thru, I dont have to tell you that .

Happiness for me is being close with nature, Love the ocean, just love nature in general. Seeing my dogs faces when all they do is stare at me and follow me around, it makes me laugh. A good comedy movie that makes me laugh out loud. I love to go to the movies, sometimes on the spur of the moment. I like my own company, I dont have to be with anyone to enjoy myself. I like having uninterrupted thoughts and hypothetical circumstances that I create in my mind. I know Im going to write a script, book etc. one day. I have a lot of idea's, even if I dont follow thru. Family makes me happy, sitting down to a big Italian meal and having my brothers and nieces & nephews around with all the crazy conversation. Im happy that I still have my Mom, she is 85 and still ornery.

Im happy to have my meditation, which centers me and makes me focus on the positive and helps me gain the wisdom I need to live a good life and to be happy in the midst of the problems that life brings us , which will befall everyone of us . We cant escape it. Im happy to have Alanon and the family of MIP, even though some days I come to the boards and everyones questions and problems some days overwhelm me and I dont want to be here, but I know I have too. If I can help one person with my experiences, then you help me also , because it makes me expand myself, everyone of you. And that makes me HAPPY!!

Luv, Bettina

That is the cutest pig!

I sooo wish you weren't stuck in this awful bureaucratic limbo.  Hoping things work in your favour!

Finding happy for me has usually meant (I think too much so) some sort of accomplishment -- finishing a big project at work, painting a room, refinishing a piece of furniture.  I can't always be "doing" to keep myself happy.

So I've been trying to refocus my attention and savour the pleasure in the little day to day things.  Like the younger dog laying her head in my lap, gazing up at me with that "Pet me MORE!" look, or putting her front legs on my lap so we can go nose to nose and she can kiss my chin.  Sharing a moment of understanding with a stranger in a store, when we both laugh at something together.  Sitting peacefully in the sun with a perfect cup of tea.

It's not so much about rearranging the world to find happy, it's taking the time to notice what is already there.
