That's my work these days... I've been lied to so often that I have a hard time believing what I see is true. I've been doing pretty well with it too and I'm proud of myself!
My in recovery AH has been "dopey" the past couple of days, and his daughter noticed as well. I simply told him, I know you say you are not drinking (although I do not completely believe him), but you appear to be dopey, there is a definite difference in your behavior and I am not imagining it. I don't know what the cause is, but I don't care to be around you when you are like that. End of discussion- no trying to convince me he's not dopey, because I know he is and cannot be convinced otherwise. MY SKY IS BLUE. Not pink, or purple, or yellow. I don't know how it got to be blue, but I know it is BLUE.

In these situations only believe what you can see and experience for yourself, that only took me 15 years to 'get to grips' with! :) Never was a fast learner LOL
