Well my nieces have been given a Christmas gift. As many of you know my brother-in-law was busted lasted year for making meth. This was his first offense but because it was a big one the attorneys were pretty sure that he would have to do some time. He has been out on probation doing what he should be doing and working his program.
On Tuesday the judge sentenced him to 4 years probation! Yes he is a convicted felon, but he will serve no time. The judge decided that because he decided to stay in jail for awhile, went to rehab and has changed his life around that there was sufficient evidence enough to allow him a second chance. He did make it clear that should he put one foot out of line he will go to jail. He will serve 5 years in jail.
Here's a story of an addict who is making a difference. He is volunteering delivering meals to shut ins. He is working his program and even made the front page of the sports section because he was at a basketball game with his brother. A far better picture than the one he had when he was busted. He has a new chance at life. I can only hope that he makes the most of it. I still hope that my sister will get the help she needs. Perhaps someday. For now I will enjoy this Christmas miracle.
May you all have a wonderful holiday. I know things can be difficult. Have a plan B. There are Alanon functions going on. Check with your local chapter. Come here and into chat if you are feeling stressed. We've all been through this. You can get through it. Merry, Merry Christmas to all. Much love and blessings to you and your families. Kiss all your furry friends. Don't forget they are big part of our recoveries too.

Mahalo Karilynn and Piper Claus for that hopeful message. The possibilities are indeed endless when the program is worked as suggested. Prayers for him and his family and all addicts and alcoholics in and out of recovery and for those whom have been touched by them.
Merry Christmas from the "F" family including Chloe and Sadie. Sadie loves kisses and Chloe loves.....food. (((((hugs)))))
