Prayer request

I just wanted to request some prayers for my family. My AW and I have been trying to both deal with her addiction to alchohol through AA and Alanon. I had been suspicious about her drinking for the last month or so and it finally came to a head last night when she was hiding vodka and drinking it everytime I left the home (with my kids at the house no less).

I was leaving town this weekend and had prayed over and over to God to show me a sign if I shouldn't leave my kids with my wife this weekend due to the danger of a major relapse. Prayed for his will and strength. Man did he come through. I am so thankful for this program that I was able to very calmly address the issue with my wife, make arrangement for my kids at my parents home, and follow through on my boundries.

Hardest thing I have ever done. I asked my wife to not come home until she was 30 days sober and completed an in-patient treatment facility. Didn't try to suggest where to go, didn't say when she had to start it, just that she wasn't going to be with her family until she did.

As fate would have it, her meeting with her counseler is today at noon and she can come up with a plan. As a former "hot head" I can't thank the support of Alanon folks enough to give me the peace in my decision and the will to carry it out.

I appreciate if everyone would just say a prayer that my family heals from this latest episode and we can get to a place of serenity in our lives.

Thanks for listening.

C

Hi C

I will certainly pray for you, I know when I am going through an awful scary time, and I ask my friends to pray, that sometimes I can just "feel" their prayers, I feel covered or that someone else has my back so that in itself helps a great deal despite the outcome of the situation,

Dear C

I am so glad that HP answered your request for guidance and clarity.  Program is amazing and the tools enabled me to handle manysituations that once caused me great anxiety, just as you with courage, serenity and wisdom'

Thank you for being here to share the journey.  You and  your family will be in my prayers today

(((ntxalanon))) This program is great, isn't it? And so is talking (and listening) to HP. I hope all goes well with your wife's meeting with her counselor today and that she will start on her path to recovery. I will include you and your family in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Awesome stuff.... sound like you are working the program - for you - and that is great stuff....

Like I mentioned before, it seems like we are living almost parallel lives (mine was ten years earlier) - if you ever want to chat to someone who has been through similar things, you are most welcome to do so...

Take care
Tom

(((((NTX)))))...prayers for sure and stay with your recovery.  More guys in the program
now than before and we don't suffer any different than the ladies who opened the door
for us.  It works for us all.   Yes God/HP often does for us and also leaves other
options for the alcoholic.  I believe that HP wants your/HP's alcoholic sober and she
cannot sit on her hands as a part of the deal.   Prayers done.   (((((hugs))))) smile

I would welcome a conversation. I have to take my wife to be admitted at 5 today, but maybe tomorrow, etc. Thanks for your willingness to share. C
