I am on a positive mission. By that I mean that I am looking for the good things in life, in me, in others, in all situations.
Fear, trembling, sceptism is waning and in place of those I find courage, steadfastness and joy. And the ratio of bad days to good is turning itself on its head. True, I still get days when things seem to out of sync and out of joint...but they are less frequent and less prohibitive as I find ways to change my responses and look for the positive in all things, people and places. What a joy that is.
The more I travel my road to recovery, the more I find I am confronted with and the more I find I can cope with and the less I am distraught, disheartened and dis-eased!
I am on the right road and have met up with that great companion Positive Synergy.
Huh? I hear some of you say. What's that?
Synergy is - when the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Like this family...lots of Synergy here. Miracles in progress, care and support and positive comfort and energy and love.
Positive Synergy is - possible when the right people are in the right place, at the right time who are all focusing on the right goal.
THIS IS our family folks. You and me and you over there oh and the guy at the back and the lassie to the west of me...YEP...you are all the right people, in the right place, at the right time, focusing on the right goal.
RECOVERY from, living with and being affected by, someone you love who has a problem with alcohol.
YEP...the further I travel, the further I realise that Positive Synergy is on the road I am travelling now. And it is for you too.
What a message of hope for us all.
Have fun, thank God for the wonder of this moment and being with the right people, and in the right place at the right time focusing on the right goal RIGHT THIS MINUTE.
Thank you family, I could not have got this far without any one of you. I am here for you too.
With love,
Suzannah

I was reading the biography of Cicely Saunders who founded the hospice movement. She said that she understood that we should thank God for everyone who comes into our lives, good and bad.
I could not understand that at all but now I think, with this program I have an inkling of what Cicely was talking about.
