Still hard, but starting to heal

Hey everyone. So I'm still having a really hard time letting go of my ex A. Since he was my best friend and boyfriend, we did EVERYTHING together and went everywhere together. So naturally I'm reminded of him everywhere I go. But one thing that has helped is my family. I have been spending a lot of time with my sister lately. She is married and just had her first baby four months ago. When I was dating my ex, we had virtually no relationship because she didn't like us together and because I would choose him over her. Over the past few days, she has spent the night at my parent's house with me and we've stayed up all night talking and shopping and just having fun. She told me that I would be her best friend if we hung out more. Then she asked me if I wanted to move in with her and her husband to be a nanny for their baby! You have NO idea what a big deal this is. We've always had a pretty rocky relationship, but I feel like my prayers for comfort have been answered through her. Yes it's still really hard losing the one person I love most in this world. But I have my family back and that's all that matters. To anyone who is wondering, I'm starting to get over my aversion to pain pills. Since my car accident last week I have really needed them. I finally started taking them and they really do help. Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to take care of myself. Now I just have to wear my neck brace at night and the doctor said the pain would be tolerable within the next few weeks. I am just so grateful for all of the wonderful people and blessings in my life. I owe a lot to you guys and my Heavenly Father. Thanks for reading. :)

Its great to have the positive support and love of your family.

Its hard to be apart from your XA. I was married for 26 years and been apart for 2 1/2 years and it does get better as time goes on.

Just keep working the program and keep coming back and it will get so much better.

Luv, Bettina

Well done, Brookiebabe, it is great to hear a positive story. I know it is hard but you have done such a good job of looking after you and that is so important.

(((hugs)))

Wonderful news.  My family was an important part of my healing process.

I'm reminded of the saying, "When one door closes, another door opens".

Sounds like HP is showing you the way!
