Happy Thanksgiving MIP Family go create some stuff to be grateful for and of course do some Turkey and fixings and all of that. LOL I am on a diet and I will break it on Thanksgiving. I will be with family...my sons and daughter and grand sons and grand daughters and one great grand daughter who I'll be able to out eat Yay!! My sons of course are another story...when they go for it you will swear you can hear the sound of a large vacuum sucking.
Tomorrow is surgery day and instead of reaching out to my Al-Anon Family for assistance I going to do something different my family is coming around to support me; take me to the hospital and wait for the surgery to be finished and then bring me home. That's not usual for me because when our family got broken by addiction I rebuilt my support system around Al-Anon and kept my mind, body, spirit and emotions out of the insanity of what I had separated from. It was very very sad because I'm talking about being separated from my children and during that time they remained by choice is what was the addiction problem for me. I got safe and sane and my life back which makes us different however I decided to ask them to participate in my journey at least this portion and they stepped up willingly. When I told my Al-Anon support that I would not be needing their help they responded okay. When I asked my family that I would they said "OKAY!!". I got caring phone calls from my sons and daughter and they will all be on hand so that we will have a day of gratitude together if the doc directs me to another Okay. I love hearing the incoming language from them and giving it back just like we are some kinda normal family. I'm thankful for the possibilities from the surgery because I was told this is inoperable and then again that it takes place on Thanksgiving Eve with the post op on Thanksgiving day is like being tickled again by my HP. It's not that I'm totally blind. My right eye is very good and my heart is 20/20. I'm blessed and will remain in trust and hope until the pirate's eye patch comes off.
I am grateful for this MIP family...you have supported me for a long time and taught me to support others...Mahalo Nui (Thanks much) God Bless.
Good luck Jerry. I pray the out come will be exactly as planned. This is one of those times when taking care of yourself first is allowing others to do it for you. Up date us when you can because until you do I will be continue to "pester" HP.
By the way, just for the record, your heart is better than 20/20 in my eyes.
My thoughts will be with you Jerry. I hope you have a very successful procedure and quick recovery. You will be on my gratitude list for sure!
Glad to hear your family is there for you. Wish we were closer - would love to come offer help where we could. For now, know we love you and my personal program of recovery would not be the same without you.
Love & hugs,
Tricia

(((Jerry))), I'm so happy to hear your family is supporting you. Now you have the care and support of TWO families! Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
I'm so laughing at your description of your sons eating, and how you swear you hear a large vacuum cleaner! Hahahaaa! I hear that when my son eats, too - he's almost 10, but he already eats at least twice as much as I do!
Good luck with your surgery - prayers for a speedy recovery. I am so glad that you have the support of your family!!!
Gettin here Late Again :0) but wanted to let you know that I will be Lifting you up in Prayer tonight and tomorrow At our Thanksgiving Gathering You are One Tough Cookie Mr. Jerry F. & I have all the Faith in the World that HP will see you thru with Bells on :^)
I am Very Happy that your Family managed to help out and join you I can only imagine what that means to you...
I resently just found out that I have to have "Mild" surgery here in about a Month, and I chose not to tell my family, so it will be just me and the husband, My family likes to bring "drama" and the 1st time I get knocked out I don't want to have all that Worry on my Head ...
But... Back to you ... lol... I'm bet'n you are going to make One handsome Pirate for a while, So Live it up ... Enjoy the Love & Attention, and Know that you loved many many many Miles away ...
I love hearing the incoming language from them and giving it back just like we are some kinda normal family.
Lol -- that made me chuckle!
Kudos to you for having the courage to reach out to your family for support at this time. That's another "normal"!
Happy Thanksgiving and hoping the surgery goes well!
