Thanks everyone....

For the kind thoughts, words and ideas.  Surgery is 6 Am tomorrow!!!!  Just found out the time.  Of course things are more hectic than usual today as Murphy's Law has once again reared it's ugly head.  Wife late from school, have to drive daughter to MIL then race back to work.  Daughter does all her homework wrong then has a meltdown...I'm frustrated, we have to plan who's going to get daughter to school in the morning...and on and on.
I was letting it get to me.  I came on line now and thanks to reading everyone's posts and comments, I'm reminding myself that:
1.  It's not that bad
2. I'm causing most of my own problems with my attitude about what's happening (the old "of course it has to happen today", " why does this happen to me etc.")  I have to get real.  Life can be hectic sometimes, I may even get stressed out at the moment, but "this too shall pass" and in another day, I'll be wishing I was ABLE to do all this running around LOL.
3.  I did do something well,.....as daughter was melting down....I was able to hold her and tell her I love her and not to worry, we'll just do the best we can to fix the HW and what we can't get to?  Well I'll write a note and the teacher will understand (she's a good student).  I was able to remind her "no matter what's happening, or what's going wrong, you're Daddy loves you more than anything in the world".  I think I did ok on that end.

sounds like you did great MJH! when my older daughter melts down (she is my overly sensitive child), we talk calmly about what we call the rule of 10s: how much will this matter in 10 minutes? 10 weeks? 10 years? The point is to never trivialize how she feels, but still give her some perspective.

good luck tomorrow, and please let us know how youre doing!
