Xeno, I'm thinking of your suggestion as I write this.
Mood is better since yesterday....why? No huge reason. Probably an accumulation of small things and perhaps some biology. What did I do yesterday? Spent some time with my daughter including going to lunch at Subway and running errands together. Brought the dog with us. Took a 1/2 walk with dog. Played with dog here and there. Some manual labor - moving 20 foot 2x6 to stack them and get them out of driveway (from the deck). There were about 25 pieces. Played guitar last night...and while technique was ok, I switched when I felt some discouragement and got away from technical and just learned some songs, figured out chords etc. (A word on guitar. I'm actually pretty good....an intermediate to advanced student. Its that it was easy for a while to learn and I've hit a plateau...probably near the end of my talent level and it's mostly work now to get better. There's a certain level I'm shooting for - being good enough to play out at restaurants etc - and I'm not quite there although I can see it in the distance. i get discouraged sometimes with lack of progress technically, but I'm learning to switch gears when i feel like that and keep it fun.) Overall a good day. Had feelings of gratitude for good health the ability to walk long distances (especially with knee surgery later this week - I realized how much I'll miss the walks until I can do it again). A beautiful starlit sky last night...no negative thoughts creeping in....tried to figure out constellations, where we are in our orbit, where the moon was...etc. Thanks for listening.

Great job ! I truly enjoy your posts and while you may not see it quite yet I am thrilled with the progress you are making I know ( as we are our worst critics ) I didn't see my own progress for the longest time, but others did and they reminded me of it every chance they got...mostly because I am pretty sure they didn't want to see me revert back to the person I was before hitting the doors of alanon. I didn't want that either so I accepted the progress they saw in me until I could see it for myself. Knee surgery? Ouch Hope all goes well ! I am guessing you will be off work for a while, I sure would love to see you in our morning meetings while you are off Wishing you continued progress !!!!! Blessings
