I am in my new home - the first one that I own - a week today. IT IS GORGEOUS!!! I just registered for college with my daughter, she and I are both going. I turn 40 next week and I will quit smoking then and have no fear that I will succeed at that. I have already cut back drastically since moving.
It is so hard to get moving. Depression, fear - the emotional and physical pain that brings and just getting off that mark is harder than any of the accomplishments that follow it.
But each of us is worth it. We CAN do it on our own. If we need help, it is out there if we look in the RIGHT places. We can choose not to let others drag us down. No is a complete sentence. You do not have to conquer the world in one day. Sometimes just a walk is good enough.
Life is beautiful.

I went back to college in August to finish my degree and I am about your age!! At first I was afraid, but now I love it! I have a sense of accomplishment and I am taking one very difficult class. I feel like I am completing something I never gave myself the chance to complete.
The fact that you and your daughter are going together is even better! My cousin is going back to school in another city, but we talk about our experiences as being "older" students!! We are excited and happy to get to go back to school!!
Wow! Lots to smile about! How empowered you must feel, and rightfully so!
"It's so hard to get moving." ... I understand that so well, and have started praying that I can break such a barrier in order to do some things that will be life-changing for me.
So glad you are sharing with us. I rejoice with you!!
Blessings, Lou
