My aka is "carmen"; I have been working this program over a year and am not a spammer. Have I been banned because my web connection appears similar to someone who spammed? Or, is there a reason why the MIP website does not want me here? I am panicking because I rely so heavily on MIP for help.
I tried logging in and the following appears:
-us.chat4all.org- *** Looking up your hostname...
-us.chat4all.org- *** Found your hostname (cached)
-us.chat4all.org- *** Checking ident...
-us.chat4all.org- *** No ident response; username prefixed with ~
us.chat4all.org On behalf of Chat4all, all the 7 staffmembers wish all the spammers a nice day in Hell. May your days be infernal... erm.. eternal.
What a horrible greeting for someone who came here for help.
For what it is worth They are monitoring very closely to try and find the spammers I don't believe anyone thought you a spammer Carmen But I sure can relate to not being able to get in...I too panic when that happens Blessings
To further explain.... I was in there last night when there was a problem. Whover the spammer person was kept getting around his ISP ban and came back about 10 times. He was VERY vulgar in not only his words and different created sign on names, but he was PMing people with even more vulgar words. At one point he was PMing a person that had come in to the room for the first time and needed help.
Since he was getting around the ban to his ISP, the IRC cop suggested (and because it was late) that every ISP be blocked with that particular ".com" so he would give up and go away. It was the only solution at the time to keep the room safe.

I Appreciate you have to keep the chat room safe but maybe the message could be re-thought. Not nice, especially for for someone like Bud, who innocently stumbled across it.
