Open vs. Closed Meeting

Ok, so I am taking steps to get to a meeting.

The issue for me is, am I allowed to go to a closed meeting?  That seems to be the only time that will work for me.

Can anyone explain the differences?

Thanks!

Open meetings are for anyone to attend
Closed meeting means only those who meet the requirments of Alanon can attend
And the only requirement is that your life was/is being affected by someone elses drinking/addiction
So if that fits you, you will be welcome at the closed meeting
Glad you found Alanon and Blessings as you start your recovery
Blessings

I've never heard of a "closed" Al-Anon meeting....  Like Xeno said, the term "closed" usually means exclusive, but I have only seen that for "closed AA" meetings - where some AA meetings are only open to alcoholics, whereas some (open) meetings are open to anyone, including loved ones of alcoholics....
