October Eden Update

I wake up to my one white silkie rooster, Jesse, I decided to keep, crowing his head off at my bedroom slider door.....Barlow my turkey is answering him of course from the barnyard...

Hard to awake from my soft cozy warm bed with 5 little dogs all around me, my black poodle  Happy under the covers. Tavish my Basset belly warmer is  under my blankets too.Sauvey my Great Pyr is laying on the foot of my bed where he always sleeps, and if any of us move too much he growls and tells us to simmer down...

My feet hit the floor and if I have said anything, Celie my piglet starts hollering that her tummy is empty and she wants her warm cereal with fruit NOW. That is my first chore with 8 dogs around me too.

Reeba parrot asks me, "what are you doing?" This means she wants some too.

Then I make up the dogs food, dry with a mix of canned, leftovers, ww bread, eggs, baby formula and eggs on top. They are busy drooling all over my floor as they wait. I make wait until it softens some.

16 eyes on me, and all the while thinking how quickly  they can get Celies breakfast if I just turn my back for a second...no way.

Meanwhile pot pigs on the deck are watching me thru the slider. Sooo I fill up their bucket with warm water, they hear and KNOW what is coming so they start hollering at me.

Separate dogs, give them their bowls. put grain in pigs bucket, then out the back door I go to three big snouts trying to get into the bucket, I yell NO which is probably the ten thousandth no they have heard, then begins the, out of the way, don't step on my toes, where are your bowls??? QUIT slobbering on me! Muddy do not bite my butt!

Gather bowls onto the table handfill their bowls and one extra, pig politics will drive ya nuts, they think the other has better and more so constantly push and exchange bowls....

I throw three bowls over the fence where the other three pigs are waiting for their breakfast.

Throw alfalfa and grain over the fence for the llama Campbell and his tall sheep Pammy.

Total chaos, total.

Back inside, Reeba parrot is saying, "Tavish get out of there! Quit it quit it!" he is in the little dogs bowls.

Now Tavish and the two big dogs, one being Bonnie my Newfie mix go out. I gather the four little dogs, my little girl dog does not like to go out. I am fine with that as she has the worst hi pitched bark at NOTHING for hours.

Get their lifesavers on them. They are plastic hangers with the hanging part broke off, then I duct tape them in the middle making wings. Then pass ties thru either side and tie on each dog. They cannot get thru the fence this way. The hard part is they are all long haired, poodle/shi tzu/maltese so I have to make sure no hair it tied up.

They tear out the door barking crazily at NOTHING.

Big dogs greet them, Elgin  horse has wandered up to the door and stares at the bag of feed in the room. He will stand there and stare at it for hours I swear. so I feed him his warm cereal too.

Elgin was on his way to Europe to be dinner for someone. He is a big white horse with little brown specks. The sweetest horse you would want to meet. loves for you to kiss his big old lips and he will move his back and forth as you do.

Whew. Now I can dust, sweep and mop, clean up kitchen and make my bed, clean bedding, mmmm.

Now a screaming black and white 10 pound bag with ears a snout, legs and hooves and  an attitude KNOWS it is 11:00 time for her bottle. I of course was just ready to sit down. bottle was made earlier. so I lift her squirmy NOT easy to lift tight little body into my lap, she happily and insanely goes nuts and drinks her bottle.

She slobbers on me, then goes to sleep still sucking in her sleep.

Ok I have two huge over 100 pound sulcata tortoises. Fred and Jefferey. They have a room on my deck I have hung three lights down from the ceiling to a corner in their room. I then made them a "tent" in there with the lights inside of it. They are in heaven in the warmth. I don't want to get my power bill.

They get thrown kale, mustard, collard, turnip greens, and their cactus. Fred looks at me then looks out his door then goes back to eating.

So right now everyone is happy and healthy and has me wrapped around their hooves, claws, paws and toes.

If I wake up in tears I don't have long to think about why. Hp  seems to know what I need.

Now little dogs are all back in sleeping up here on the double recliner with Celie next to me. Eden is quiet again after ever singel morsel has been eaten.

Oregon is sunny today, everything is greening up again. Hummingbirds are fighting over the feeders right here outside my windows. They pick one as their own, so I keep putting up more and more. I am feeding the birds again, but the fat guineas keep hopping into the feeders!

Anyway White rabbit asked about the animals so thought I would update.

hugs,debilyn pooped out
