Checking in and all is good

Our family had a great weekend.  AH has been sober for about  5 days now.  He is always sober on the weekends it is weird.  We skipped church this Sunday been haveing some issues with a couple of people trying to butt into our lives.  We've been going to that church for 15yrs and everyone knows about AH and all of a sudden for no reason the new secretary is meeting with my kids and telling them they can get counciling and your parents will never have to know, then another good friend approched them and said that not to worry your parents wont find out that we got you into counciling. Now our phones are ringing off the hook my and the girls phones with the youth group leader want to talk to me and and help me and the kids.  Seriously nothing has changed in our house to make these people start freaking out. The girls dropped out of choir because they were uncomfortable with all the questions.  They deceided not to be a part of youth group anymore which has nothing to do with the fathers drinking and now the youth leader is trying to butt in  and it is just gotten out of hand. I know these people think they are helping but I think its wrong to go behind my back.  my girls are 16 and they told me if they want counciling they know where to go and they just want people to leave them alone. Since we skipped church they really think there is touble. not sure what to do or say.

Aloha Snodebb...nice that some parts of the story have smoothed out and you seem
to be getting a lesson on "reacting" from others.  Reacting is a big time behavior and
crazy when those who are don't have the permission to get involved.

By the way "sober" is the normal condition of life not the exceptional...oh except if
one is alcoholic that is.

Hope you've found the face to face rooms of Al-Anon and there is Alateen for the
teens and you gotta ask.  I sponsored Alateen for years and they really do a great
job of getting each other sane.  same program as Al-Anon.

(((((hugs))))) smile

Thanks Jerry,
I did ask the girls if they wanted to check out Al Ateen but they said no. They know I come here alot and I leave the link up for the Alateen message boards and they said they may check that out.  They are busy kids and seems like since school started back up they don't go on the internet much except to update their Facebook status!!  Today is a good day.  I have gotten the book Courage to Change have been reading that daily.  Thanks for you support.
