Watching myself...


Ugh!! Sometimes discovery isn't a lot of fun.  Truely seeing my negative behaviors can be amazing. 

I read a book a year or so ago that spoke of watching your thoughts, rather than acting on them.  Just watch and listen to your mind.  I am slowly getting better at it.  This morning my mind wants to think about a situation that right now isn't happening and more than likely will not happen for a while if at all.   Listening to my thoughts today, is showing me how manipulative I can really be.  My mind wants it now, really though my HP is telling me not now child.  In the past I may have (would have?) acted on these thoughts, actually not acted but reacted.  By watching the thoughts, I can give myself time to sort out the facts and not work off of emotions and feelings which can distort the facts.  

Today , I know that if I get busy on the things my HP has lined up for me, rather than the things the spoiled child inside of me wants.  This could be the day to beat all days.

Boy can I relate.   My thoughts always to a number on me, from convincing me that my life sucks and i"m wasting my time to there are better things out there so run away from...(marriage, job, etc.) and go find the better things.  Funny how when I'm thinking in a healthier way, these thoughts aren't as intense or I can actually ignore them as they are not helpful.

Great Post Fishin!!  Another lesson in fear or False Evidence Appearing Real.  Leave it
up to my mind to try to make some thing negative out of nothing at all.  Mountains
out of mole hills.  Watching yourself can be educational (finding out who you really
are) and entertaining (how you react to stuff).   Don't React is my most favorite
slogan!!   Keep coming back ((((hugs)))) smile

Me too! I can remember reacting to things before in such a terrible way, or dwelling on negative things for days at a time. This program has given me permission to not go there. I don't have to do that anymore!!!! What a new freedom that is for me!! Thanks for sharing.
