Monday I woke up still feeling emotionally hung-over from the previous day. My head taking me back to old injuries from living with my now exAH. His sneaky behavior, the lying, the cheating, the verbal and emotional abuse.

And then I remembered something, Monday morning...

I can get myself to a meeting after work.

It was as simple as that. I have a couple of meetings I hit regularly during the week, but don't attend the other meetings around town much at all. I am so grateful to live some place where there's a meeting almost every day of the week.

It was just what I needed. Seeing a few familiar faces, some of which I see only on rare occasions. Even met a newcomer and made myself feel useful instructing her on how to find more meetings in the area by going online (since the Monday meeting was fresh out of meeting schedules.)

I felt so much love and gratitude having made it to the meeting and surrounded myself with my caring extended Al-Anon ohana (family). It really turned the rest of my day around.

So, remember, if you're ever in a spot where you usually attend maybe a couple meetings a week and you live in a place where there's more, there's always the option of hitting a meeting you don't normally get to when you're feeling down and want some communal support.
