LOL!! I rarely if ever get physically ill especially with flus or colds or the like and am now experiencing what that feels like again. I've been blessed for such a long time that this brings up gratitude for all of the past years I've been free of bugs.
My spouse offered to make me some chicken soup and I vasilated for a minute and then gratitude again; not for the chicken soup that I said yeah okay to but for the wife who offered to make it.
I have to laugh because way in the back of all of the possibilities was JB, lemon and honey...soooo funny cause I never knew if that was a real healer or just a way of increasing the pain so the angst of a cold diminished. Before I came here and got sober I was against putting anything in my booze including ice.
Chicken Soup and I said yes!! What the hell can this mean?
One of my friends and a member of AA at the Bay in Hilo got her 30 year chip this morning and what a warm comfortable feeling she passed on to the group within her share and then...her husband came into the cabana and gave her another chip and an embrace which just blew my spirit. I use to be his ATV case manager back in the days when our life threatening disease was threatening everyone and everything in site. (Alternatives to Violence). He was also deeply grateful....Miracles in Progress..."YESSSSSSS". Thank you all for your support.

But I couldn't help but wonder, you being the "hugger" you are, were you able to resist giving your friend a hug? Or had the chicken soup already disposed of all the cold symptoms?
I was mostly successful keeping my (((hugs))) to myself and yes she and I just gave each other an elbow swab. This is a big hugging group so I'm the one that missed out for now.
That's adorable... YOu know...I had a jewish friend tell me that her grandmother taught her to make Motza soup using chicken FEET for the stock bc apparently that had all the "good stuff"in it...to prevent and fix colds.
Hmm.. I live on a farm..I see what chickens walk around in...
Three things that always make me feel better when I am sick: 1) Snuggling with Pipers 2) Some version of chicken soup preferably w/lots of garlic in it 3) Seeing a post like this.
Hope you're feeling back to you young self. Much love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
