I'm on a library computer with a one hour time limit that extends to all branches so I will post as much as i can before time runs out.


I have six days' good fortune remaining...


after that, i need a place to camp out in my car (don't worry; it's quite comfortable and cheaper than other shelters) and food money. Even with week's supply i brought with me $18 doesn't go very far especially when $12 has to go for coffee or my ADD goes mad. Residency permits, employment and car insurance have to be settled as well.


My biggest worry is the $66 for next month's transit pass...without which i literally can't survive. Transit is even more important than food here.


My feelings are going to erupt soon. It will not be pretty! Being 2500 miles away with few resources for the first time is scary, very scary...My feelings getting into the dark colors and earth tones and I don't like it. There is a deep rage and fear that i will be left in the dark and dust and danger


As you might imagine, the culture shock is setting in and I still have much to learn. With the huge book and coffee culture here, I do have a decided advantage <evil grin>. There is a massive bookstore here called Powell's with ten rooms in seperate colors over 3 floors. One could live there and never read it all.


The food scene here is quite good, especially the Asian food, so once i get (preferably earn)some bucks i can eat cheaply and well.


hey guys and gals, i don't mean to kvetch...it's just that i have to get this stuff out and i know you lot understand as few others can!

So glad to here form ya again. And living right close to Seattle I understand the coffee cultre as well, (I had to give it up though, but I have made peace with that, for the moment ).


Have you ever heard of the W.I.A. program? It stands for Workforce Investment Act. It is a federally funded program. It helps people who have work look for better jobs or people who need work look for jobs, update resumes. This should be down in Portland as well. It is one of the programs in the agency that I work for, and it is a really good program.

Hax contact the salvation army. They can at least guide you to where you can
get help until you get on your feet. I too would rather camp.

Mike, I know never called ya that before, do they have general delivery there at
the post office like they used to? Please mike let me know. I don't have a lot
but it would make me feel so good to help as much as i can.

I do know some people in Portland who could guide you and possibly help you.

I am going to email this one person now.

Salavation army and other places are allocated moneys from the federal
government (our money hax you have worked too) to be divied out to people
to help them.

Get to the human resources dept and get on food stamps for sure. You should get at
least $149.

They may have programs to help you with a free pass to get started.

Hax I know people up at Sedro Wooley in Wa. too. I don't know what kind of
worker you are? This gal has a nice place, it is an animal sanctuary. She has rv's and stuff
around at her place.

I can ask her if she needs someone to work there for room and board.

Just to get ya started. I don't know if you care if you get dirty or not??/ Or if you like
animals.

Hax what kind of job can you handle? What do you want to do?

Hax a long time ago a lady taught me how important it is to accept when someone
wants to give. it is true. It feels good to give. So please send me a private email
or however youwant, telling me how to contact you and send some help.

i can help some about the 22nd. If I get something before that I can help too.

there are resources in Portland.

Could you work in a hospital? OHSU is up there. The zoo, omzi. so many neat places.

Let me be part of your miracle!!! Remember hax, i was homeless too, you were
there for me every day for days and nights!!!

Wispy is in Seattle. have you contacted him? I don't know if that is an option or not.

I promise it will be ok. Please haxi get me a way to contact you. I am going to email
my friend now. I know we can get you going.

You can get a job there and survive but here in Lebanon it is bad or I would say come here
and see what we can figure out. NO jobs here. just meth addicts... sadly.

Haxi just reread your post again. Ok I can send you the transit pass money after the 25th

so that is covered. can you go to the human resources dept to get help? food stamps
etc.

I say can becuz I have the depression/anxiety thing and sometimes i cannot do
some things others can. do you know what I mean?

so anyway i wrote to my friend Patty in Portland. She will have ideas, she loves
to help. I told her to think of you as a pot bellied pig. lol only you would under
stand I say that in a loving sense!

Quit ignoring me and answer. 541-259-0500 now call me collect and tell me the number
you call from. i can say no the next time you call and call you back, it is cheaper.
sorry that sounded bossy!!! lol I am not bossy, well used to be I guess, mother
said I was. lol
Give me until tomorrow. Call early early or late. I am usually outside all day.

I need to know if you need a leg up from us. If you don't then I will let it go. but I really
don't want to let go.

Hey hax do you know how to do carpentry at all? I mean framing etc? My son
may have connections there. what do you think?

If not tell me what you can or want to do for sure. WE all need someone who talks to
someone else to get a job....
