The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Well, I survived telling my story for the first time last night in a combined open AA/Alanon meeting! YAY! Actually, I found that I was not even nervous the whole day yesterday about it.
I was amazed at how many people came to talk to me after the meeting and thank me for sharing or say that they could relate.
It was a good experience, and I'm glad I did it. Thanks for everyone's encouragement.
I have found that any time I am asked to serve either to tell my story or to chair the Al-Anon meeting at a conference if I take my Higher Power with me I do just fine. I have also found that I benefit from it as much as the audience does.
I have an Al-Anon meeting to chair today at a conference and it's really no big deal but it amazes me how many people are so afraid of getting up on that podium. Maybe it's my need for acceptance? who knows.
GOOD JOB

Awesome stuff, and truly a big part of our recovery... the ability and willingness to be open about our circumstances and our paths is very freeing and helps us in so many ways..... well done!!
