Hi ((((friends))))!! It seems I live my life with songs constantly playing in my head (usually James Taylor-love that man!!!). Maybe because I almost always have the radio or CD playing? Anyway, it occurred to me that the messages from songs are a very powerful influence in my life and always had been. This song from the musical 'Wicked' has been replaying itself in my brain for the past several days and i decided maybe it was a message others might like to hear, also.
This is dedicated to all the wonderful new friends that I have found at MIP:

In the few short weeks I have been coming here, I HAVE been changed, and I do believe it's for the better. Thank each and every one of you for sharing details of your life with me, for encouraging me, giving me hope again, and for doling out a swift kick in the butt when I needed it! I picked my user name because that was my firm resolve when I first arrived here. Now I realize it's not a choice because I HAVE been changed and it wouldn't be possible to go back even if I wanted to (thank goodness!!!)
I love you all and hope each and every one of you is blessed today in a special way, and that you will recognize that blessing when it comes along!!

Nice one Denise....I find that lyrics of pop songs are the poetry of our generation. I have always found the lyricist from the band Rush to leave me with thoughts I can't shake.
It is a joy to see someone who has been in the program only a short time...accept it, apply it, take it at face value, and not question it....the "Courage To Change"....It only gets better.
Never forget that old timmers need you as much as u needed us , thanks and if you feel that great just comming here can u even imagine where u can go by adding f2f meetings to your recovery , people with skin on em , who go for coffee on a bad day or pick up a phone in a crisis ?? dont miss out on the biggest part of recovery the fellowship . There is nothing like an Al-Anon hug trust me
