Well I have detached from hubby emotionally and physically, the merry go round was making me sick so I got off, we have both played the games, and I have sat on my pity pot telling him over and over why he should change because of the things I have done and continue to do, I mean who else would put up with all this crap, so he is keeping me short of money now, and I suddenly thought, hold on, you have tried to control and manipulate me with emotion sex and now money hell what more is there to do to a person, so I went off for a cycle ride with a friend today who was going mad with toothache, I said put some neat brandy on it or some hard spirit, she says just punch me in the jaw and take me out will you, I said nope , I would do that to a runt of the litter now but not you, I said I need you now and I am selfish I might hurt my hand.
So we ride off and she keeps stopping to dab her tooth with whisky I say I cannot belive I am having to deal with this today, to keep stopping at benches for her fix lol
So we get to the coffee shop and I order two coffees and two scones, we have a shared purse and it just had enough money in, the scones were still being baked but were delivered to our table when they came out of the oven, fresh rasberry and almond with real butter,
So I was on my last half and I had cut it into two pieces and just buttered it, when like a flash a special needs teenager took it striaght from my plate and ate it right there and then, I laughed till I cried, the carer for the girl said I am soooooooooo sorry she just loves her food, she said thankyou for not getting mad at her, she said I will buy you a replacement, I said hey look please it is ok honestly, but she insisted so I ended up with another complete scone, see god love's me. and will not see me go hungry.
So we are riding home and a bird poos out of the sky on my friends arm, and she is mad, I say look Chez it is ok it only went on your arm not in your hair or clothes, and it is lucky, she said LUCKY, only thing lucky is it never got you!
So a little while later I look down and I have bird poo all over my shorts on my bike and on my leg, lol I said I can't belive it got me too! But not to worry I got a coloured wash to do when I get home Lol
Thank you so much for that wonderful example of using our tools to change inner attitudes. How wonderful to decide to go for the bike ride with yor friend instead of trying to fix the situation at home. Having a shared purse with our friend is also a great idea and allowing her to take care of herself in what ever fashion she needed, was also great recovery. The handling of the scone disappearance, the bird droppings (you need to do a color laundry anyway) was a powerful example that it is not what happend to me in this world that counts so much but it is HOW I CHOOSE TO RESPOND.
The reading in the Courage 2 Change today, ( page 187) really spoke to this issue as well
